Au sec, ou presque - On dry land-ish

IMG_8569.JPG

Hello!
First I wanted to say that I'm thinking about my Parisian family and friends who litteraly have their feet in the water. There are massive floods in Paris and people are really having a hard time. The river Seine has bursts its banks and is now 6m above its regular height. The Zouave of the Alma bridge (which measure the floods as a symbol) has water up to his waist!
We usually joke that it's always raining in England well this time the joke is on them. We have very grey skies but at least it's dry. And we event had a glorious bank holiday weekend.
My parents took me to Dorset which is a region in the south of England. It was so clear that we could see Normandy and the Isle of Wight form the cliffs.  But first we stopped mid-way in a very nice place near Winchester. I like going on car trips. I have everything I need. My ipad and some nibbles. I'm happy. I also look outside and I'm coping very well.
The hotel was very nice. Like big old house but with a very nice garden. We had a big room and I had my dinner there. It took me a long time to fall asleep because it was so warm in the room despite all the windows opened. Plus there was a wedding nearby so a bit noisy. The day after I was quite tired but we had some more road to do so it was ok. But we stayed 3 hours in the car to complete the last 70km! Horrible. I was really annoyed by the end. Fortunatly we finally reached Swanage on the Jurrasic Coast (yep, that's the name) and went straight to meet our guide, Jim. We had a climbing activity booked. That was really cool As the picture shows above it was very... scenic! Papa had a go as well. Maman is getting used to seeing us dangling off cliffs but she's still trembling inside!
On the bank holiday monday we rented bikes and went almost all the way back to where we were the day before. We discovered a lookout with retired seamen who are keeping watch from a high post on the cliff. There was an openday and they were very busy explaining their jobs to tourists like us.
We went for lunch in a very bucolic village and where really shattered when we came back to the hotel.
Tuesday it was more climbing for me and papa (see picture on the right) but the weather was starting to change and the sky opened at 3pm when we where having a nice stroll on the beach. So we decided to head back to London. 3h30 under bad weather (ie rain, rain and more rain) but we finally made it home.
It's chilly now but i'm still busy. Yesterday I went to meet my friend Leela the dog at Hampstead Heath. We are getting along much better now. She was very happy to see me and when she came full steam ahead to say hello I wasn't scared.
Today is already friday. I'm heading to the play centre and at 2pm Andrei is picking me up for more fun.
Monday I'm going back to school for the last leg of the school year. A long one until the 20th of july when we finally break for summer.
See ya!
